Hello Johnson County School District #1 Families - welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!

As you know, COVID-19 is unfortunately still a part of our lives and we will be continuing to actively monitor students and staff for signs and symptoms of this virus. We have a layered approach to COVID prevention, including currently only recommending face coverings, enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols, social distancing and symptom monitoring. Similar to last school year, we ask that you check your student daily for symptoms of COVID (fever, cough, shortness of breath, new loss of taste or smell, etc.).  PLEASE keep your student at home if they are ill. If a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19 or is exposed to someone who has tested positive, we will be following Wyoming Department of Health contact tracing requirements for isolation and quarantine throughout the school year.  If a person who is vaccinated is exposed to a positive case, or if both individuals were wearing a mask, quarantine is not required.  Visit the Wyoming Department of Health website for additional COVID-19 information.

Our goal is to work with you to ensure your student’s health and safety while they are at school.  If your student has a chronic medical condition or a health concern, please email us so that we can set up a time to discuss your student’s needs. If your student requires medications while at school, please complete and return the required Medication Administration form which can be found on the District website.

Please have your student up to date on mandatory (COVID-19 vaccination is not mandatory) immunizations prior to school beginning to ensure they have optimal protection against vaccine-preventable diseases.  If you have not already provided immunization records, Wyoming state statute requires proof of immunization within 30 days of the first day of school. Please contact the school nurse or your student’s primary care provider for questions regarding immunization status and records.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance or if you have any questions or concerns.
