What a week celebrating the Class of 2024!! From a class picnic celebration with parents, to academic awards honoring community scholarships, academic awards, and student athletes, to the big graduation day, it was a bittersweet week! We know great things are ahead for this class! May each of them find their own path of success and happiness!

BHS hosted its first-ever in-person esports tournament and it was a huge success. This landmark event has set a new standard for our up and coming esports program. We are thankful for Cheyenne South, Lander Valley HS and Clear Creek MS for their willingness to join us! This tournament was not just a competition; it was a celebration of teamwork, strategy, and the incredible potential of our students. In fact, one player was heard remarking, "it's not the game, it's the people you meet playing it." This rings true in so many avenues of life.
Our students excelled, securing top positions in every title—a testament to their hard work and dedication. Here are the standout results:
Smash Bros: We are proud to announce that Hyrum Price emerged as the champion, with Connor Ruby also making a strong showing in the top four.
Rocket League: The BHS team, composed of Ella Berrett, Andrew Rogers and Dexter Perkins clinched the championship, showcasing remarkable skill and coordination. Most importantly, I wanted to share that they stepped in and coached our CCMS Unified Special O team, on their own, without prompting.
Fortnite: Our Fortnite teams demonstrated strategic excellence and quick reflexes. Fortnite 2.0 (Jackson Darnell, Iiniwa Roche and Van Thorson) captured the championship, while Fortnite 3.0 (Joshua Zimmerschied, Ryan Merritt and Ryan King) were the runners-up. Fortnite 1.0 (Tye Tanachion, Wyat Bowles and Connor Ruby) also performed exceptionally, securing 4th place.
A special thanks to Jarod Crider, whose technical expertise and unwavering support were invaluable to the success of this tournament. His contributions ensured a seamless experience for all participants. Congratulations to Coach Krista Sweckard for her dedication to make esports happen for our BHS students!!
