The 6th Grade teachers completed their cross-curricular unit between Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies over the past couple of weeks. Mrs. Camino’s Social Studies studied a mini unit on the history of the Iditarod. Mrs. Thiele’s Math class worked on designing and finding the surface area of the box sleds. Mrs. Ruby’s Science class took these designs and built small scale models to test them on a snowy hill. Once tested, the students took their data to Mr. Scarlett’s Language Arts class to create a persuasive essay to present to their peers based on their small scale models built in Science. Students were then put into groups of 3 to build the large scale models. They will raced them on the Pole Creek Sledding Hill. Congrats to Lincoln, Max and Will for being the 2025 Champions!
