November Students of the Month- Ownership
Ownership

OWNERSHIP – Take responsibility for actions
Be responsible for your thoughts, feelings, words, and actions. “Own” the choices you make and the results that follow.
Ownership is our willingness to take responsibility for the choices we make. When we take responsibility for our choices, others know they can count on us and we earn their respect

3rd: I am very excited to share with you Thaxston Tobiasson for the key of Ownership. Thaxston embodies qualities that make him a candidate for any of the keys, but he is a stand out nominee for the key of Ownership. Thaxston possesses a unique ability to speak up and take responsibility when others will not. From leaving out classroom materials to playground choices, Thaxston will always stand up and say, “I forgot to do that” or “I think I said that.” Not only is Thaxston often the first to take responsibility when mistakes are made, his ownership shines through in his stellar classroom work as well. Thax takes pride in the work he produces making him a role model for those around him. I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to spend 2 years with Thaxston and to watch him grow into a truly incredible 3rd grader. Way to go Thax, I’m very proud of you!

4th: I am proud to nominate Lexi Gagliano for the Key of Ownership. Lexi brings with her an unparalleled level of energy, motivation, spice, and love. She is on the go 100% of the time, and is one of the hardest working fourth graders I know. Through all of her work and play, there are times mistakes are made; just like the rest of us.  What separates Lexi and really highlights one of her best qualities, is her sense of ownership when she needs it. I have seen Lexi become frustrated with school, peers, and even me.  However, when given time and patience, she is also one of the quickest students to reflect on her actions, take full responsibility, and apologize when needed. I am so amazed at how quickly she is growing into a loving and caring young lady. Her sense of ownership earns her the added benefit of being trustworthy and a great role model and friend. I am SO proud of you Lexi!  Keep up the great work!

5th: Riggs Walker is the perfect example of ownership. Riggs consistently shows ownership of his words, schoolwork, and actions at school, embodying integrity and responsibility in everything he does.  In class, he takes pride in producing quality assignments and actively participates in discussions, ensuring that his contributions reflect his true understanding. Riggs also holds himself accountable for his actions, whether it’s meeting deadlines, helping classmates, or owning up to mistakes. He isn’t afraid to own what he does whether wrong or right and fixes his mistakes without complaint when necessary. I am proud to recommend Riggs this month for the key of ownership.
