This month the full Kaycee Student Council attended the Wyoming Association Of Student Councils State Convention. There, the members were able to socialize with others, listen to motivational speaker Brandon Lee White give his speech called “own it”, and more. The delegates also attended workshops to help build their leadership skills, and two members had the opportunity to run a workshop and teach their peers about creativity and inclusivity. Kaycee Student Council was also recognized in many ways for their work this past year. Dustin Sipe was a nominee for Advisor of the Year Award and Treasurer Cruz Garcia was bestowed with the Hidden Hero Award, paying credit to his work behind the scenes. President Kate Maxwell was one of fifteen students in the state to receive All State Student Council for her ability to participate in student council at multiple state levels. Kaycee Student Council was also awarded Honor Council With Meritorious Distinction for their outstanding contributions to the school and community. Along with this, they had fun participating in the annual tee shirt swap and the dance. Overall, it was a successful WASC Convention.
