Go Kaycee!!
Arts & Humanities had an awesome time in Denver. They visited Meow Wolf, the Pink Floyd show at the Museum of Nature and Science, ate southern food, and took in the Denver Art Museum.
The 6th Graders took a trip to Rock Springs, WY, on March 21, 2024. This excursion was designed to complement our current studies centered around the book "The Traitor" by Laurence Yep. Our aim is to explore the historical events of the 1885 Chinese Massacre in Rock Springs, WY, in order to deepen our understanding of its historical significance.
During the trip, students took a guided tour led by Jennifer Messer, the curator of The Rock Springs Historical Museum. This tour provided students with the opportunity to observe art pieces and historical artifacts related to the Chinese Massacre. Additionally, students had the chance to engage with newspaper articles, firsthand accounts, and other historical documentation pertaining to the event.
Adan, Cruz, Payton L., and Kate are taking over the Invasion and making dinner. All proceeds will support their trip to Europe this summer. Details are in the attached poster....please come support them if you are able :)
The Art Auction that was scheduled for Tomorrow, March 26th has been moved to April 30th. This will now be combined with a Soup Supper and a performance from the Guitar musician. It will still start at 5:30 with the Soup being $5.00 per person
The 11th Grade Trip to Little Bighorn Battlefield that was scheduled for today has been cancelled due to the weather.
The Junior class had the opportunity to job shadow last week. Students were able to shadow personnel in the same field of work that they have interest in. Some students found out that this is exactly the type of career they are looking for and also some found out that maybe that career field was not a good fit for them. The students came away with a few summer job offers , internship information and a lot more general knowledge of that career field. We would like to extend our gratitude to Zac Smith at Edward Jones, Rachel and Wyatt at the Buffalo BLM field office, Mike and Marye with Rehab Services at the Johnson County Healthcare Center, Thane at Johnson County Weed & Pest, David at Weatherby in Sheridan, WY, Becky at Cotant Family Dentistry, and Splint Memmer with Circus Cowboy Company.

We knew our Kaycee Middle School Band was good, but this past weekend we found out they were SUPERIOR! Congratulations to the band for scoring a Superior rating at the Northeast District Music Festival in Hulett. This achievement was reached by scoring a 4 or 5 out of 5 points in 8 categories!
Additionally, some students scored extremely well individually.
Emory Forbes was rated a superior violinist.
Bailey Reimenschieder was rated a superior vocalist.
The clarinet duet of Millie Firnekas and Hadlie Garcia was rated superior.
Austin Scmitt, Trevore Pavey and Ben Curuchet had a superior brass trio.
WE ARE SO PROUD OF OUR MUSICIANS!
