JCSD#1 invites you to join an important community discussion regarding the Superintendent's recommendation to adjust graduation requirements from 28 credits to 24 credits starting in the fall of 2025. This proposed change, planned to be implemented over the next four years, is designed to offer greater flexibility in school programming, address funding challenges, and better align with district staffing and student opportunities.
During the discussion, we will also address the currently projected decline in student enrollment and how this trend connects to the recommendation to reduce graduation credits. The presentation will outline the broader impact on funding and operations across all schools within the district, providing a clear perspective on how these adjustments are essential for the long-term sustainability of JCSD#1.
We encourage all parents and community members to attend, engage with district leadership, and learn more about the key factors influencing this decision. Your participation is vital as we navigate these challenges together and plan for the future of our schools.
