Kaycee Families,
Due to the extreme forecasted weather, we will not be running busses or having school in person on Thursday. ALL students will be doing virtual classes or their teachers will send them home with work that needs to be done tomorrow. Your children will be sent home with a breakfast & lunch if they choose. All travel for activities Thursday & Friday are cancelled & currently in the process of being re-scheduled. Thank you for your patience & please stay warm!
Dear parents, Due to the extreme forecasted weather, Johnson County School District will not be running route buses on Thursday and Friday. School will be in session for all students who can attend and for parents who can bring their children to school. For parents who are unable to bring their children in to school, the schools will be sending devices home with your children to do school virtually, if you have internet access. If your child needs lunches provided from school during the next two days, please contact Ricci Sanders at 620-9206 by noon today, to let her know so she can send home the lunches. We are doing this to ensure the safety of our students.
Good Chilly Afternoon,
As you may have heard our building was cold this morning. Here is an update on the heating situation at the school. This morning our boilers were down and we had to restart the system. We started school with a building temp of 60 degrees. We are now at 67 degrees and climbing. We will be running the boilers at full capacity through the evening to prevent the building from cooling down. We thank you for your patience as we endure the cold.
Good Morning,
Kaycee School PTO will be holding their meeting this Friday at Noon in the commons. See you there!
Kaycee school will have a regular school day tomorrow. The water outage has been fixed.
Kaycee Families,
We will be closing school & running busses at 10 this morning due to the town's water be down & no ETA on when it will be up & running. Students will be coming home with chromebooks to do virtual classes. Sorry for such short notice, but please call the school with any questions or concerns. 738-2323. Thank you.
Merry Christmas from the Kaycee Staff!
We are almost there!! We can smell the gingerbread and Christmas cookies! As we close down for break, parents we would ask that you check with your childern to see if there are any extra school items that may have made it home. (Chrome book chargers, late library books etc.) Please send these item in before we leave for break.
On Thursday we will be ending our week with 2 hours of Christmas cheer with some small group workshops of fun. School will be released at the usual time of 4:00 and busses will run as scheduled. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
As we approach winter sports season, there will be several changes to meet WHSAA expectations and State of Wyoming Covid-19 orders.
1. Face coverings must be worn at all times in the school building.
2. No food or drink will be allowed in the gym.
3. Maximum spectators will be limited to 100.
In order for us to reach expectation #3, we will be holding 60 seats for our home team and 40 seats for our visiting team. If there are left over seats for any game they will be available at the gate. Of course our 60 seats will be reserved for parents of each player and reservation of those seats will be handled through our coaching staff the week of competition. I want to thank all of our parents and Buckaroo fans for your understanding and patience through our Covid-19 school year.
Recently, Johnson County has experienced an increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases, this increase directly impacts the functioning of our school system. The main goal for Johnson County School District is to provide for the health and safety of our students and staff. We believe that schools are the safest place for our students to be and we want to keep our schools open. The safety protocols that are in place in our schools are working to reduce the transmission of this virus. In order for us to continue our mission of guaranteeing a learning environment where every student grows every day in his or her overall well being and academic achievement, we need help from our community. Please remember to wear a face covering, maintain at least 6 feet distance from people in social settings, and frequently wash your hands. Thank you for partnering with us to keep our students and staff safe and participating in face-to-face learning.
JCSD#1 is committed to keeping our school buildings open and educating our students.
